Sales
Probably the simplest of them all, shop the sale rack; and by this I mean shop the rack but make sure that the new price is within your range. A way to do this is before you look at the price, think of what you would pay for it and if it costs more then that than don't buy it... stay firm!
Outlets/ Factory Stores
I'm lucky enough to have two good outlets within 30 minutes of me, so this is where I do most of my shopping. Outlets are where clothes from the real store didn't sell, so they may be out of season or a couple of years old, no matter what it still is the brand name for a cheaper price.
Flash Sale Sites
These sites will have designer products for sales from anywhere between a few hours and a few days. These products are severly discounted but are first come first sale. Some of my favorite sites are Rue La La and Gilt.
Thrift Shops
Thrift shops, if you are willing to spend the time are more then song inspiration for Macklemore they are a hidden goldmine for discounted designer products.
Discount Stores
TJ Maxx and Marshalls are the first two that pop into my head but I'm sure there are others. They sell designer clothes for a discount, almost like an outlet but for many brands. Some may not be that discounted and other products will be an unbelievable deal.
I hope this helps all you preps on a budget like me
